Siddhartha Gautama: the prince of a small kingdom in Nepal, found enlightenment in India and came to be known as Gautam Buddha. Beautiful Buddhist monasteries and stupas scattered across whole India represents art, culture and architecture.
There are many numbers of legendary religious sites attracting huge number of devotees, monks and lamas every year. Most of the sites are situated around the River Ganges. Some of the significant sites are Lumbini, Bodhgaya, Sarnath, Kushimagar, Shravasti, Nalanda, Rajgir, Sanchi stupa and Ajanta Ellora.
Destinations Covered: Delhi, Agra, Varanasi, Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Nalanda, Patna, Vaishali, Kushinagar, Lumbini, Sravasti and Lucknow.
Tour Program:
Day 01: Arrival Delhi
Arrival at International Airport in Delhi. Our tour representative will greet and assist to transfer to the pre-booked hotel. Refresh and relax at the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi – Agra – Varanasi
Early morning transferred to railway station to board train for Agra. Arrival in Agra and Transfer to hotel for refreshment. Visit world famous Taj Mahal- one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Tajmahal is build by Mughal Emperor and Red fort: a royal red-sandstone fort situated on banks of the river Yamuna. In evening, transferred to railway station to board train to Varanasi.
Day 03: Varanasi
Arrival in Varanasi. Tour representative will assist and transfer to hotel. After breakfast drive to excursion of Sarnath- a place where Lord Buddha deliver his first sermon in the Deer Park after getting enlightenment.
Day 04: Varanasi – Bodhgaya
Take breakfast at hotel and after-that drive to Bodhgaya. Arrival in Bodhgaya, representative will assist you and transfer to hotel. Bodhgaya – is spiritual home of Buddhists and is place where Lord Buddha got enlightenment under a tree called a Bodhi tree. See Mahabodhi Temple and Niranjana River.
Day 05: Bodhgaya – Ragjir – Nalanda – Patna
Have a hearty breakfast at hotel and further drive to Patna – the capital of the Bihar en-route visiting sightseeing of Nalanda with Rajgir. Arrival in Patna and transferred to pre-booked hotel.
Rajgir – ancient name is Rajagriha which means abode of kings is surrounded by the meandering river Banganga and five hills. Buddha sermons many number of sermons here during his 12 years of long stay.
Nalanda – one of the most renowned universities in ancient India.
Day 06: Patna – Vaishali – Kushinagar
After hearty breakfast, drive to Kushinagar- where the Buddha attained Mahaparmirvana. En-route visit Mukutbandhan Stupa and a grand statue of the reclining Buddha. Arrival in Kushinagar and transferred to hotel by our tour executive.
Day 07: Kushinagar- Lumbini
After hearty breakfast visit Mahaparinirvana temple & Stupas. After lunch drive to Lumbini- birthplace of the Buddha. Arrival in Lumbini, tour representative will assist and transfer to the hotel.
Day 08: Lumbini – Sravasti
After breakfast and drive Sravasti – the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala. En-route see Lucknow-capital city of Uttar Pradesh. Sravasti is the place where Lord Buddha live for Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. Arrival in Sravasti, tour representative will assist you to transfer to the hotel. In Sravasti visit Saheth – Maheth & Jetvan.
Day 09: Sravasti – Lucknow – Delhi
After hearty breakfast drive to Lucknow & transfer to railway station to board the air conditioned train for Delhi. Arrival in Delhi, tour representative will assist and transfer to hotel.
Day 10: Delhi – Departure
Have a hearty breakfast at hotel and proceed to sightseeing Tours of Delhi. Visit the 11th century Qutab Minar, India Gate, President House, President House, Mahatama Gandhi Memorial, Laxmi Narayan temple. After farewell dinner, transfer to International Airport to board flight for onward destination.
